Sanjay Leela Bhansali is believed to be a meticulous taskmaster.

Recently, we reported that Deepika Padukone found shooting for his upcoming film, Ram-Leela, quite challenging as the director kept pushing the actor to deliver her best. But it seems that she was not the only one who felt the pressure.

We’ve come to know that Bhansali wanted Richa Chadda, who plays a supporting role in the film, to look like Smita Patil from Mirch Masala (1987).

"He wanted a girl with a dusky complexion and Indian features. He told me to watch Mirch Masala, particularly a scene where the women (Smita Patil, Supriya Pathak and Dina Pathak) are doing garba. I had to watch the film to prepare for my look," says Richa.

She reveals that the late actor inspired not just her look in the film, but her acting as well.

"I noticed her body language in the film and tried to execute it in a way best suited for our film. My attire is also inspired by her. My backless blouses and jewellery bear resemblance to what she wore in the film," adds Richa.
