Riteish Deshmukh admits to being a huge Govinda fan. In the ‘UP-Bihar lootne’ number recomposed by the Meet Bros. in Kya Superkool Hain Hum, the actor claims to have borrowed ‘jhatkas’ and ‘thumkas’ from the dancing star. “He has inspired me and if I am even one per cent as good as Govinda, it will be a job well done,” says Ritiesh. He adds that the male version of the chartbuster from Shool (1999), sung by Sukwinder Singh and Daler Mehndi, is not an attempt to break Shilpa Shetty’s sexy image, but to make Ekta Kapoor’s sequel “super kool”. In the film, Riteish lives off his pug that mates regularly and earns money for his master.

The dog is reportedly called Fuckruddin. “It’s actually Fakru, depending on how you spell it,” corrects the actor, but admits that the comic caper is slightly risqué. “It’s the naughtiest film I have done. In fact, when I signed my contract, it said that Ekta would give me tickets to fly out of the country when Kya Super Kool Hain Hum released, to avoid the brickbats.” And after the short break, Riteish will start shooting for another sequel, Masti 2, in August.

“It’s a new story and completely mad,” he says with a smile. Given that he’s being seen as the king of sequels, why isn’t he a part of Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal that takes Malamaal Weekly forward? “I wasn’t approached for it,” he says. And what about Dostana 2 and Housefull 3? “Dostana 2? Don’t know anything about that one!” he shrugs, adding, “And I don’t think Sajid (Khan) will even think about Housefull 3 before completing Himmatwala. So, it is just Masti for now!”
