After winning over 10 awards for various comic characters, actor Tusshar Kapoor now wants to be known as a lover boy on screen, more so after playing a ‘romantic’ hero in S Manasvi’s Rajshri film

Love You Mr Kalakar

with Amrita Rao.

He says, “I’d rather be known as a

prem-pujari

than a comedian on screen. I’m already playing a cartoonist who falls in love with a management trainee in the Rajshri film, which is an emotional love story, and loving it.”

Kapoor flagged off his career with the romantic

Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai

and then got stuck with comic roles like

Good Boy Bad Boy

,

Dhol

,

One Two Three

,

Life Partner

and the

Golmaal

series. He has two more comedies this year:

Golmaal 3

and

Run Bhola Run

.

Does he fear getting typecast? “Govinda told me that if you want to create a brand name for yourself, it’s important to be the best in one genre. Sometimes, to become a star, you need to make people happy with that one thing that they associate you with,” reasons Kapoor, adding, “But I will never quit comedy.”
