Along with a bunch of other stars, Salman Khan’s decision to perform at an event in Uttar Pradesh drew a lot of flak recently, but the actor has plans to return to the state soon, this time for a charity performance. We’ve learned that it’s set to take place after the release of his upcoming film, Jai Ho.

"Salman has decided to take a very important initiative in his hands. In Muzaffarnagar, UP, a lot of young children have died at various relief camps housing victims of communal riots that broke out on September 7 last year," says a source close to the actor, adding, "Recently, a cold wave hit the state and temperatures dropped down to single digits. The cold as well as the poorly-maintained relief camps led to the death of these kids. Salman is very upset with this news, so he has decided to do something about it."

The source adds that while thinking about what he could do, the idea of doing a show and raise funds came to mind. "Salman has asked his team to figure out a show to raise money for the victims in Muzaffarnagar. He feels very bad about the situation, so he has taken keen interest in doing something at the earliest," says the source.

The show is expected to take place after the release of his next, because until then, the actor will be busy travelling to promote it.

Ask Salman about this and he confirms, "I have asked my team to organise a show. The proceeds will go to these children."
