Titled, Know Your Indian Voters, the video encapsulates hilarious characters that represent the average Indian voters.
Rajkummar Rao, who is gearing up for the release of Newton - a film on elections and voting in our country, has teamed up with the YouTube group Culture Machine’s Being Indian for a video where they tell us about four different kinds of voters.
Titled, Know Your Indian Voters, the video encapsulates hilarious characters that represent the average Indian voters.
Rajkummar explains various scenarios that happen during the elections in four hilarious characterisations that exhibit the ridiculous situations thousands of presiding officers face during the polls.
From Mr. Excuse - the guy who always has a rabbit hole of excuses to avoid voting, The Activist - the guy who preaches to everyone and anyone he meets on the streets about the significance of voting, The Conspiracy Theorist - the guy who thinks everything is rigged, planned according to a new world order and democracy is an illusion and The Celebrity Voter - the guy who makes sure that the entire world notices him when he votes and also makes sure to leave a note revolving around his own life.
Talking about the video and types of voters, Rajkummar Rao told Hindustan Times, “Sometimes voting can be a fad to take selfies for social media. In the video that I have shot with Being Indian, we have tried to portray different kinds of voters. Although it’s a humorous take on such voters but the point is to make people aware of the voting process in India.”
