He may be only three films old in the industry, but actor Sidharth Malhotra now wants to take a break from the kind of roles he has done so far, and step into a sports ­personality’s shoes.

He may be only three films old in the industry, but actor Sidharth Malhotra now wants to take a break from the kind of roles he has done so far, and step into a sports ­personality’s shoes. While biopics such as Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013) and Mary Kom (2014), among others, ­celebrate popular Indian athletes, the actor, too, wants to play a sportsperson in a film.

“There are so many ­interesting ­sportsmen whose ­stories are untold. I would love to be part of a biopic on such a person,” says the 29-year-old, adding that he has always loved sports and has been part of ­sports-related activities right from childhood.

“Sidharth feels that such films have a lot of ­potential for an actor to learn new things. There are ­several ­elements in a sportsperson’s life that can be showcased,” says a source close to the actor.
