Sung by Neeti Mohan and Sanam Puri, the soulful track has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar.It is also the first song from the film without any kitschy lyrics. Watch it here:
Talking about the making of the song, SOTY director told Times of India, “When you see the number, you will know why it has been shot this way. Tiger and Ananya’s chemistry is brilliant. It’s an advantage to have Tiger in the song; there’s no dance form that he can’t do. Also, he’s so much at ease while doing it.”

Punit also told in a DNA report, “We were stuck at a point where we were wondering what kind of a romantic number should we have. Student Of The Year (2012) had Ishq Wala Love, which was a big hit and we wanted a song that could match up to it in some way. I love Fakira. It has a more Indian melody than Ishq Wala Love, but the idea was not to do something that’s exactly like it. We wanted to do something different. It has a Punjabi touch to it as well,” he says. He also revealed that Ananya came to watch the recording of the song as she wanted to see Sanam.
Student of the Year 2 marks the Bollywood debut of Ananya along with Tara Sutaria. Alia Bhatt has also performed a special dance number titled The Hook Song for the film. The makers have also released two more dance numbers featuring the lead cast: The Jawaani Song and Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan.
