Vidya Balan considers her role in The Dirty Picture the toughest one so far. The actor talks about her look in the film and about the kind of roles she will be offered after this one.

Actor Vidya Balan, 33, considers her role in The Dirty Picture the toughest one so far. "It’s the most challenging as well as a colourful role, considering I’m playing five different characters in one film," says Balan, refusing to give away more.



The actor says the weight gain was important to make her character, that of South star Silk Smitha, look real.

"You could be curvy yet sexy, that’s a deadly combo," she says when asked if she’d rather be skinny or curvy.



And, she’s not worried about the kind of roles she will be offered after the film. "If I’ve got a Dirty Picture after Parineeta, I’m sure I can get a Parineeta after Dirty Picture!"



Balan, who’ll be in town next week for the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, still doesn’t know why she was chosen for the biopic, though. "I was surprised when Milan Luthria offered me the film, because it’s not a conventional casting.



I was curious to know why me, but he still hasn’t answered that!"
