Bollywood actor-turned-writer Twinkle Khanna went all out to put in a positive review for husband Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha that hits theatres on Friday. Twinkle took to Twitter to sing laurels for husband dearest and his latest film that takes cudgels against open defecation. Starring Akshay and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles, the film is directed by debutant Shree Narayan Singh.

“Saw #ToiletEkPremKatha and loved it! Very proud of Mr K-It’s a highly entertaining and equally important movie! #MustWatch,” Twinkle wrote in her short, personal review of the film. Akshay plays Keshav in the movie.

After the makers held a special screening in Mumbai, Bollywood actors and other celebs took to Twitter to shower praises on the film and the stars. Here’s what they said:

Several actors and filmmakers also expressed their interest in watching Toilet Ek Prem Katha.

Divyendu Sharma, Sudhir Pandey, Shubha Khote and Anupam Kher also feature in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha that is inspired by a real life story of a woman who left her husband days after their wedding after finding out that his home has no toilet. The husband fights social stigma and crosses several hurdles to get a toilet built for his wife and get her to return home.

The film doffs its hat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Clean India campaign. Akshay also met PM Modi to talk about the film. Later, the Prime Minister also tweeted about the film.
