Vir Das is a popular name in the stand-up comedy circuit. He also earned fame as an actor with the success of his Bollywood venture, Delhi Belly (2011). Since then, he has been a man in demand. Several filmmakers have been approaching the actor to star in their films and Vir is busy selecting the best scripts at the moment.
Interestingly, the actor will now be seen in half a dozen films after the release of his upcoming venture, Go Goa Gone. “You will see me in a release once every seven weeks. The offers started coming my way after the success of Delhi Belly and I picked the best ones,” says Vir.
After Go Goa Gone, he will be seen in Super Se Upar. Talking about the film, the actor says, “Super Se Upar is a love story set in Rajasthan. It’s directed by Shekhar Ghosh and will feature me and Kirti Kulhari.”
Vir will also be seen opposite 10 new girls in Amit Sahni Ki List. “This is a romcom that’ll have me and 10 new female actors. I’m sure I’ll enjoy doing the film,” says Vir. Following the film, the actor will reunite with his Delhi Belly co-star Kunaal Roy Kapoor. “Kunaal and I will be seen again in Golu And Pappu, which will be a film for kids.”
The actor, however, is particularly excited about his role in Shaadi Ke Side Effects, which is a sequel to the 2006 film Pyaar Ke Side Effects. “I have done a crazy job. Though I can’t say if my role is a cameo or not, I’ve asked the makers to credit it as a ‘stupid appearance by Vir Das’,” says Vir, who will share screen space with Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan in the film.
He will also be working with Kangana Ranaut and Boman Irani. “Revolver Rani with Kangana is a love story. It is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. Post that, I am doing Santa and Banta with Boman Irani. So there are quite a few films you will see me in,” says Vir.
