In this coffee-table book that has sons talking about their fathers, fathers talking about their sons alongside a page of joint-portraits, one can sense the importance of the filial link without having to watch The Godfather I.
There’s Sri Sri Ravi Shankar — difficult to be seen as anyone’s son — smiling away behind the figure of his dad, Acharya Ratnananda who refers to his son as “Guruiji”. Perhaps the most powerful photo in the book is that of actor Ajay Devgan and his director father Veeru, the latter almost looking at us, the former wearing a faint smile and looking somewhere else.
Compiled by brother-sister Anjali and Amar Ambani, the proceeds of the book will go to charity. ‘Mothers & Daughters’ next in line?
