Jagger, Richard not hygiene-conscious: book

Rolling Stones crooners Mick Jagger and Keith Richards preferred putting up with their body odours, writes author Gloria Shepherd in her new book.

Author Gloria Shepherd in her new book "Brian Jones: Straight From The Heart" writes that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones rarely bathed early on in their career.

Shepherd writes that both Jagger and Richards "preferred to put up with the stench from their own bodies". said pagesix.com.

She quotes the other band member Jones recalling, "Jagger had this habit of lifting his arms above his head and sniffing his armpits - and he'd say, 'Hmmm, manly!'"
