The two automakers are in talks for a technology tie-up with vehicle architecture at the heart of the discussions. The final contours of the agreement are being worked out.

A spokespersons at Volkswagen Group India declined to comment. A Tata Motors spokesperson said as a company Tata Motors keeps discussing various possibilities and there’s nothing more to share.

Tata Motors’ stocks showed no reaction to the report. At 1:15 pm, the Tata Motors scrip was trading 0.84% up at Rs 462.40.
