WASHINGTON: Google said on Wednesday that its system to fight online piracy have yielded $2 billion in income to copyright holders whose content is shown on YouTube. The system, called ContentID, lets a copyright holder notify the company if its content is shown on YouTube. The copyright owner gets the option to have the content removed or leave it up and reap advertising revenues; 95% choose the latter option, Google said.
