BENGALURU: Infosys has appointed former executive D N Prahlad, who played an active role in the company during its formative years, as independent director with immediate effect.

Prahlad is the nephew of founder and former CEO NR Narayana Murthy.

Announcing his appointment, Infosys said in a statement: “Prahlad played a key role in the rapid growth of Infosys, being associated with the company during its formative years.”

Prahlad is the founder and CEO of Surya Software Systems, Bangalore. Surya focusses on products for risk management of financial institutions.

He is also on the advisory board of the computer science and automation department of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
