Bharti Wal-Mart would open close to 40 cash & carry stores across the country in the near future, Bharti group chairman Sunil Mittal said on Sunday. The company had initially planned to open around 15-20 stores in three years.

"We have neither scaled down nor scaled up our expansion plans because there has been no reason for it,” he said.
“We are not going very fast on this as we have a measured approach as per the plan. You will see some of them opening,” Mital said.
Bharti Wal-Mart is a business-to-business (B2B) joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and Wal-Mart for wholesale cash & carry and back-end supply management operations in the country. The JV company opened its first cash & carry store under the name Best Price Modern Wholesale at Amritsar in May.
