Govt plans Educational Finance Corp

The government is planning several legislative amendments to encourage private participation in the field of higher education.

The government is planning several legislative amendments to encourage private participation in the field of higher education. It is also planning to set up Educational Finance Corporation and National Accreditation Authority to improve quality of education in the country, said Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal in Mumbai.

Speaking at an industry chamber function here, the minister said, “The government would reduce its intervention in the education. The Corporation would reduce fee structures in private institutes as they would be provided with long-term commercial borrowings. Similarly, students would also be extended with the facility to fund their education.”
