Sensex down 68 points after firm start

Sensex fall back by 68 points after a strong start in continued volatility during morning trade due to alternate bouts of buying and selling by investors.

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex fell back by 68 points after a strong start in continued volatility during morning trade due to alternate bouts of buying and selling by investors.

Asian markets witnessed a mixed trend in early trade.

The BSE barometer was quoted at 68.08 points lower at 20,759.37 at 10.30 am after moving irregularly in a range of 20,985.62 and 20,717.05 in the initial thirty minutes of trade. It closed at 20,827.45 on Friday.

The broader S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was down 6.90 points at 6,193.20 at 10.30 am from previous close of 6,200.10. It touched a high of 6,244.15.

The market is getting resistance at higher levels as investors are heavily pulling out money from stocks, market players said.
