The stock market benchmark, Sensex, on Thursday extended its bullish trend, gaining 45 points in the morning trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange on fund buying in fundamentally strong shares.

The 30-share index, which recorded a historic single-day rise of 653 points on Wednesday, gained 45.82 points at 16,368.57 in the first five minutes of trade.
Similarly, wide-base National Stock Exchanges' Nifty rose by 17.80 points at 4,750.15 points.
