Sensex plunges 327 points in early trade
The benchmark index plunged over 327 points in early trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday on heavy selling by funds amid brokers covering their pending long positions.
The BSE 30-share index, which was higher by 77 points in previous trading, tumbled by 327.08 points to 14,592.11 in first five minutes of trading on heavy selling in blue chip stocks.
Similarly, the wide-base National Stock Exchange's Nifty dipped by 94.34 points at 4226.35.
The trading sentiment turned weak following a fall in the US stock market last evening and steep fall in Asian stock markets this morning.
