TCS to donate Rs 100 cr to build toilets in 10,000 schools

Largest software exporter TCS on Tuesday announced a Rs 100-crore donation for sanitation facilities for girl students in 10,000 schools across the country.

In a statement, the company said this initiative, following the 'Clean India' initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on the Independence Day, is aimed at harnessing the "demographic dividend".

The investment "will help children, especially girl students, to participate in school education for a longer period of time and play a larger economic role in their communities," TCS said.

TCS chief executive and managing director N Chandrasekaran said the outlay, announced following the launch of the 'Clean India' initiative by Modi, will have a "tangible impact on the level of education achievement."
