Positioned in the compact SUV segment, it remains utilitarian and rugged while bringing premium amenities to the table. If you are considering the new Renault Duster for your next purchase, here are five key things you should know ahead of making a concrete decision:

1. Pricing spans a wide bracket

Authentic (Base) 10.49 Lakh
Evolution 11.39 Lakh
Techno 13.19 Lakh
Techno+ 14.99 Lakh
Iconic (Top-spec) 18.49 Lakh

The new Duster returns with a broad price range, starting at 10.49 lakh and going up to 18.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec Iconic variant. Renault R-Pass buyers can avail the SUV at a lower starting price of 10.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The lineup includes trims such as Authentic, Evolution, Techno, Techno+, and Iconic. Prices for the new batch of strong hybrid variants are yet to be announced and are expected to be released towards Diwali 2026.

Renault is offering the new Duster with three different powertrain options. The entry-level variants get a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol under the hood, producing 100 PS and 160 Nm of torque. This unit is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and is suited for driving within the city.

The 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, delivering 163 PS and 280 Nm, is the core variant of the lineup and is available with both manual and dual-clutch automatic options.

A 1.8-litre strong hybrid variant is also on the table, combining a petrol engine with an electric motor for a combined output of around 160 PS. The first batch is already sold out, with a second release expected to roll out later this year.

3. Retains rugged DNA with updated styling

The new Duster continues with its upright, rugged stance and carries more modern design cues. It features full LED lighting with sleek DRLs and a connected light bar at the rear. Massive front and rear bumpers, thick cladding and prominent wheel arches reinforce its SUV identity.

Functionality remains a key aspect, with a 212 mm ground clearance and roof rails capable of carrying additional load. The overall design still leans towards utility and off-road readiness rather than the generic pavement-crawler aesthetic.

4. Significant upgrades inside the cabin

Creature comforts have also been expanded, with higher variants offering a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats with power adjustment, and ambient lighting.
