Kia to showcase 2023 Sorento SUV at Auto Expo: All you need to know

The current, fourth generation model of the car was unveiled globally in early 2020.

Kia Motors will showcase the upcoming 2023 Sorento SUV for India at the upcoming Auto Expo in New Delhi. The 3-row, 7-seater model, if launched in the country, may be positioned against Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Taigun.

Currently, the car is in its fourth generation, which was unveiled globally in early 2020.

2023 Sorento: Powertrain

The SUV is presented in two engine options: a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol hybrid engine and a 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. While the 1.6-litre hybrid unit generates maximum power and peak torque of 230 hp and 350 Nm respectively, the 2.5-litre one produces 191 hp maximum power and 246 Nm peak torque.

The former is connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission and the latter, to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

2023 Sorento: Features

Inside the cabin, Sorento gets features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12.3-inch digital instrument control, 360-degree camera system, 12-speaker Bose audio, panoramic sunroof, level 2 ADAS (advance driver assistance system) etc.

2023 Sorento: Launch in India

It is, however, not known when (or if) the upcoming model will be launched in India. At the Auto Expo 2018, the Korean manufacturer had showcased the SUV's third-generation model in India.
