Mahindra & Mahindra is steadily broadening its utility vehicle lineup, and one of the more intriguing upcoming additions is a new pickup truck. First shown in 2023 as the Global Pik Up Concept, the model is essentially a pickup-based version of the Scorpio N and is being tested on the Indian roads. In the recent spy shots, the interior of the pick-up truck was spotted, and it looks quite a bit different from what we have seen on the Scorpio N that is on sale currently.

The interior is the same one that was recently spotted on the Scorpio N facelift. There is a new touchscreen infotainment system borrowed from the Thar Roxx. Because of it, the AC vents are now positioned below. The Scorpio N facelift was spotted with a new digital instrument cluster that replaces the analogue dials with a large colour multi-info display. As of now, it is not clear whether we will see the digital instrument cluster on the pick-up truck or not.

You still get the familiar black and brown interior theme, with soft-touch materials on the dashboard and the same three-spoke steering wheel as the Scorpio N. Physical buttons remain for the infotainment system and dual-zone climate control, which is a welcome touch. There is also a grab handle on the A-pillar to make getting in and out easier.

On the features front, the pick-up truck can come with a Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos support, a panoramic sunroof, second-row ventilated seats, a memory function for the driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags as standard. Mahindra can also offer keyless entry with push-button start, a wireless phone charger, hill-hold control, and Level 2 ADAS.

The test mule was clearly not fitted with production-spec lighting. Both the front and rear units looked temporary, with the tail lamps seemingly borrowed from the older Scorpio. However, a few new elements stood out, including a revised grille, a proper tailgate and a shark fin antenna. The load bed was covered in dirt, hinting that the vehicle is undergoing tough, real-world testing.

Single-cab and double-cab versions confirmed

Previous sightings have already confirmed that Mahindra will offer this pickup in both single-cab and double-cab configurations. This points to a clear strategy of addressing a wide range of buyers, from commercial users to lifestyle-oriented customers. While Mahindra is yet to announce a launch timeline, the pickup is being developed as a global model and is expected to go on sale in several international markets.

Mechanically, the upcoming pickup is likely to share its powertrain options with Mahindra’s existing SUV range. Expected engine choices include the 2.0 litre turbo-petrol and the 2.2 litre diesel, both of which are already well established across the brand’s current lineup.
