2025 ends as Maruti Suzuki’s best year ever

For calendar year 2025, Maruti Suzuki posted its highest-ever annual numbers, with wholesale sales of 18,44,169 units and retail sales of 18,71,508 units. This was higher than 2024, which had earlier been the company’s best year.

The third quarter also saw record performance, with dispatches of 5,37,433 units, up 22 per cent year-on-year. Retail sales during the quarter stood at 6.83 lakh units.

Growth was seen across all major segments. The mini car segment grew by nearly 92 per cent, compact cars by 43 per cent, and utility vehicles by 32.6 per cent.

Which models and segments drove the numbers

Among individual models, the Baleno was the top-selling car in the industry in December, with wholesales of 22,108 units. Fronx and Dzire also performed strongly. For the full year, Dzire emerged as the best-selling car in India, with close to 2.14 lakh units sold. Alto sales in December were around 10,000 units, including about 4,000 units of the S-Presso. The mid-size SUV segment recorded sales of around 38,000 units during the month.

Maruti Suzuki’s Victoris also saw strong demand, with retail sales of 14,000. The model has received over 70,000 bookings so far, and around 35,000 customers have already taken delivery.

CNG vehicles remained a major contributor to volumes. CNG retail sales in 2025 were close to 7 lakh units, and CNG models now make up 37 per cent of Maruti Suzuki’s overall portfolio.

The company said pending bookings in the mini segment currently stretch to about one and a half months, while no decision has been taken yet on rolling prices back to pre-GST levels.
