Those acquitted are Jagdish, 32; Rinku, 33; and Kulwant, 37, all residents of Hallomajra, who were booked on charges of attempt to murder on complaint of Dilbagh, resident of same locality.

Dilbagh had alleged that around 10:30pm on January 16, he received a call from his neighbour, Harminder Singh, who told him that he was being assaulted.

When he reached to help Harminder, he saw him being beaten by the trio, who were armed with sharp-edged weapons, including a sword.
