Arguments on Rathore's revision plea adjourned for Monday

The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday adjourned the day-to-day hearing on SPS Rathore's revision petition challenging his conviction in Ruchika molestation case for Monday.

The court of Justice Jitendra Chauhan adjourned the hearing as he had to attend the farewell ceremony of another judge who retired on Friday.

The day-to-day hearing of the petition will now resume on Monday when Rathore's lawyer wife Abha will further put her contentions before the court.

On Thursday the judge had told Abha in the court that it would not be possible for him to take up the case today in view of farewell function of a judge.

68-year-old Rathore is lodged in high security Burail jail since May 25 after being sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment for molesting 14-year-old Ruchika Girhotra on August 12, 1990.

Ruchika, a budding tennis player, had committed suicide three years after the incident.
