Surjeet who along with his son Kulwinder Singh, called on the CM at his official residence, was handed over the cheque by Badal along with food and civil supply minister Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon.

During the deliberations, Badal felicitated Singh for rendering great service to the nation and assured him that the state government was committed to extending all possible help for the rehabilitation of his family within the legal frame work.

He apprised Singh that as desired by his family the state government has decided to give a regular job to his son according to his educational qualifications so that his family could be benefited from it.

Badal lamented that it was unfortunate that though Singh had languished in Pakistan jails for the cause of the nation, the central government has made no endeavour for his rehabilitation.

Surjeet, on the other hand, expressed gratitude towards the state government for the financial support lent to him and his family.
