BJP women tread on Kanda's 'pol khol' mission
Women wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) kicked off a door-to-door campaign "Pol Khol" against former Hayana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda here on Wednesday.
Scores of women, led by wing president Renu Sharma, visited eight villages.
Addressing the voters of the Sirsa legislative assembly, Sharma said: "Sirsa, known for its religious image, was named after guru Sarsai Nath, but Kanda has proved to be a black spot on it."
Holding chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda equally responsible in rising Kanda to fame, Sharma said: "Despite being aware of the criminal background of Kanda, who had been wanted in various criminal cases, Hooda gave him ministerial berth. This is quite shameful on Hooda's part."
She said Hooda could not shrug off the responsibility by merely saying that Kanda did not belong to the Congress.
Demanding a CBI inquiry into the suicide case of former airhostess Geetika Sharma, she said only a high-level inquiry could expose several masks that Kanda donned and used to exploit innocent girls like Geetika.
She said BJP women would go door-to-door and expose the "real face" of Kanda. She said the campaign would be completed in a fortnight.
