Chandigarh: Judges, lawyers, students walk for world peace

Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar, acting chief justice of Punjab and Haryana high court, flagged off and participated in a ‘walkathon’ for environment and world peace on Saturday.

Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar, acting chief justice of Punjab and Haryana high court, flagged off and participated in a ‘walkathon’ for environment and world peace on Saturday.

The event was organised by the High Court Bar Association, Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana and NGO Yuvsatta.

Justices Surya Kant, Daya Chaudhary, Ritu Bahri and Surinder Gupta, along with advocates, educationists, NGO volunteers and students of Ryan International School, Sector 49-A; New Public School, Sector 18-B; and DAV Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 15-A, Chandigarh, walked from the Open Hand Monument to Rose Garden, Sector 16.

Participants carried banners, placards and shouted slogan to save the environment and promote clean and green Chandigarh.
