A case regarding theft was registered at the Sector-11 police station on March 23, in which thieves had decamped with cash and jewellery worth Rs 4 lakh. The UT crime branch had set up a check post near Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) on April 28 and apprehended Roshan Dass and Pawan Kumar, while they were travelling in Honda City car (HR51-Q-0954).

Both of them were produced before the court on April 29 and were sent to three-day police custody. During further investigation, their co-accused Shankar was also arrested on May 1.

Revealing their modus operandi, police said the accused used to roam in sectors as crockery vendors, identify the locked houses and used to target them during the night. All of them have been sent to 14-day judicial custody.
