The Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh on Tuesday impounded 104 stray cattle during a special drive in various parts of the city.

The drive, which began at around 7 am and continued till 2 pm, impounded stray cattle from areas, including Mauli Jagran, Indra Colony, Sector 26, Manimajra, IT Park, Dadu Majra, Sector 38 West, Sector 45, 46, 47, 48, 52 and Kajheri.
Around 200 employees of the municipal corporation, including staff of medical officer of health, enforcement and road wing, along with nearly 80 policemen carried out the drive.
Joint commissioner Rajiv Gupta, Dr PS Bhatti, medical officer of health, Dr MS Kamboj, superintendent, slaughterhouse, enforcement inspectors were part of the team.
