CM visits ailing Talwandi

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal visited Hero DMC Heart Institute (HDHI), a unit of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), on Monday to enquire about the health of former Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president and senior Akali leader Jagdev Singh Talwandi.

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal visited Hero DMC Heart Institute (HDHI), a unit of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), on Monday to enquire about the health of former Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president and senior Akali leader Jagdev Singh Talwandi.

Talwandi has been in the HDHI for the past two days and is on ventilator. Doctors said he was responding well to treatment.

Badal instructed the doctors to provide best care and treatment to the Akali leader. He added, "Jagdev Singh Talwandi is a great personality. He represents Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat in a great way."

Santa Singh Umaidpuri, chairman, Punjab State Subordinate Services Board; former ministers Heera Singh Gabria and Malkit Singh Birmi; KJS Cheema, special principal secretary to the CM; Rajat Agarwal, deputy commissioner, Ludhiana; and other officials were also present on the occasion.
