"Some work relating to the bypass and the bridge, including the construction of approaches is pending. It seems the Youth Congress workers have a lot of such useless gimmicks," claimed Cheema.

He alleged that successive Congress governments had failed to undertake development works in the state.

"Now, when there is development and infrastructure is being built, the Congress is finding it difficult to the play the role of a responsible Opposition," he claimed.

Cheema claimed that construction of Rupnagar bypass and its bridge over Sutlej was a big achievement of the SAD-BJP government and would help mitigating the traffic problem in Rupnagar and its surrounding areas.
