Congress supporters could be seen waving party flags, raising slogans “Cong ress ke hum saath hain, Kyon ki Congress shahar ke saath hai (We are with Congress because Cong ress is with us)” and “Pawan Bansal ko vote do, Badle mein Vikas Lo (If you vote for Pawan Bansal, you get in return development)”.

Bansal told colony residents that Chandigarh had set an example when it comes to slum rehabilitation. He said under the scheme, 60,000 families would get houses, of which 50,000 have already been rehabilitated. He also assured them better facilities.

Party supporters could also be seen making aware the colony residents of the achievements of the Congress-led government in the Centre.

They also informed the residents about development works carried out in the city in the past five years.
