Dev Vrat Tyagi, an English teacher at Rishikul Senior Secondary School at Ghraunda, 15 km from here, was arrested after students medical examination reports confirmed that the student has received injuries due to the caning.
Ghraunda SHO Naib Singh told HT that Tyagi, who was booked under the Juvenile Justice Act, was produced in the court on Tuesday. However, later he was bailed out.
Tyagi had brutally caned his 15 year old student after he failed to answer two questions on August 23.
Later, the victim was admitted to the community health centre (CHC), Ghraunda. A case was registered against the teacher after the charges were corroborated by medico-legal report.
