Daduwal was arrested on August 24 by the Punjab police in connection with an FIR registered against him in Faridkot on March 16, 2009, on the charges of attempt to murder and under various sections of the Arms Act.

Daduwal said he had been arrested in an old case owing to political vendetta over the formation of the HSGMC. He alleged that the Punjab government had re-opened the case to settle a score over the peaceful takeover of Gurdwara Chhevin and Navi Patshahi at Guhla Cheeka (Kaithal).

The bail plea will come up for hearing on Wednesday.
