Facile win for SD School-24, lift cricket title

SD School Cricket Academy, Sector 24, Chandigarh, defeated Rajni Gandha cricket club, Delhi, by 12 runs to lift the 12th Intercontinental cup cricket trophy at SD Senior Secondary School, Sector 32, Chandigarh, on Sunday. The tournament was organised by Skyline cricket academy.

SD School Cricket Academy, Sector 24, Chandigarh, defeated Rajni Gandha cricket club, Delhi, by 12 runs to lift the 12th Intercontinental cup cricket trophy at SD Senior Secondary School, Sector 32, Chandigarh, on Sunday. The tournament was organised by Skyline cricket academy.


Batting first, Chandigarh team scored 181 for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Rahul was the top scorer for the team making quick fire 80 runs off 40 balls.

Jashan scored 45 off 25 balls to help his side reach a for midable total. For Delhi club, Rohit took three wickets, while Yogesh took two wickets.

Chasing the target, Delhi club could only manage 169 for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.

Manoj Chauhan made 64 runs off 35 balls, while Madhu scored 25 runs. For the winners, Sonu took four wickets.

Rahul was adjudged best batsman , while Subhdeep was adjudged best fielder. Subham Jain also of SD School was adjudged best allrounder.

Brief scores: SD School-24: 181 for 7 in 20 overs (Rahul 80, Jashan 45, Yogesh 2 wkts, Rohit 3 wkts); Rajni Gandha, Delhi: 169 for 8 in 20 overs (Manoj Chauhan 64, Madhu 25, Sonu 4 wkts).
