Haryana govt waives off loan totaling Rs 154 cr

Haryana government has waived off debt of over Rs 154 crore, which was taken by people from Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance Development Corporation (HSFDC) and Haryana Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections Kalyan Nigam (HBCKN).

Haryana government has waived off debt of over Rs 154 crore, which was taken by people from Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance Development Corporation (HSFDC) and Haryana Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections Kalyan Nigam (HBCKN).

Stating that the decision had benefited about 1.64 lakh people, welfare of scheduled castes (SC) and backward classes (BC) minister Geeta Bhukkal said it was a long-pending demand of SC and BC people to waive their debt.

She said the HSFDC had waived off loan of Rs 73.52 crore, taken by over 1 lakh people, whereas the HBCKN had given a waiver of Rs 81.23 crore to 43,173 people of backward classes categories.
