Haryana polls: On Day 1, five file nominations

Five candidates, including a candidate of Aarakshan Virodhi Party and four Independents, filed their nominations on Saturday, the first day of filing of nomination papers for the Haryana assembly elections.

The Haryana chief electoral officer, Shrikant Walgad, said Jai Prakash Kaushik and Ramesh Verma filed nominations as independents from Bhiwani assembly constituency, while Pankaj and Kusheshwar Bhagat filed their papers as independent candidates from Kosli assembly constituency in Rewari and Badshahpur, respectively.

Sanjay Sharma of Aarakshan Virodhi Party filed nomination from Ballabhgarh seat in Faridabad.
