Haryana to launch 'Muskaan' drive on Tuesday to trace missing kids

The Haryana police and women and child development departments will jointly launch a month-long campaign 'Muskaan' on Wednesday to trace and rescue missing children in the state.

The Haryana police and women and child development departments will jointly launch a month-long campaign 'Muskaan' on Wednesday to trace and rescue missing children in the state.

An official statement on Tuesday said that director general of police (DGP) Y P Singhal and director general, women and child development department, Amneet P Kumar, directed through video conferencing, the inspectors general of police of all ranges and superintendents of police and officials of women and child development department in this regard.

It said that the campaign aimed at tracing the missing and destitute children and to re-unite them with their parents.

The first campaign of this kind was launched in the country in January 2015 wherein 3,000 missing children were traced and out of these 99 were from Haryana, the statement added.
