HC to hear petition of 13 Congress candidates on Friday

The Punjab and Haryana high court has summoned the record pertaining to nomination process of 13 Congress Party candidates of municipal council, Guruharsahai in Ferozepur.

The Punjab and Haryana high court has summoned the record pertaining to nomination process of 13 Congress Party candidates of municipal council, Guruharsahai in Ferozepur.

The a division bench would hear the petition on Friday. The Congress leaders have moved high court alleging that their nomination papers were not accepted by the local administration. They have further made allegations on local Shiromani Akali Dal leaders of indulging in violence and further alleged that venue for filing nominations was shifted in connivance with district administration officials. As per reports, 15, SAD-BJP candidates have been declared elected by the local administration of Guruharsahai on Tuesday.

The HC would also hear another petition filed by a SAD candidate, Sukhdev Patwari from ward number 47 of Mohali Municipal Corporation seeking direction to local administration to accept his candidature, which was rejected due to an alleged anomaly in his documents and according to him was rejected without any hearing.

The HC also dismissed a petition on Monday filed by a Congress leader, Madhu Khanna fighting election from ward number-39 of Municipal Corporation, Hoshiarpur alleging tampering in the documents submitted by her.
