Addressing a press conference, state BJP general secretary Rajiv Bindal said Shandil, a retired army officer, should resign from CWC membership and quit all other party posts on moral grounds. "The alleged involvement of son of a CWC member, who was a member of Defence committee, was a serious matter as a court of inquiry had already been initaited by the army against Lt Col Sanjay Shandil," Rajiv said.
Bindal said family members of anyone having links with the accused could not be entrusted with any responsibility that could pose a security risk.
He said framing of charges against Virbhadra Singh as Union cabinet minister and the alleged links of Lt Col Sanjay Shandil with a Bangladeshi spy have caused embarrassment to the people of the hill state.
