The Indian National Lok Dal on Sunday complained to the chief election commissioner (CEC) against the Congress government in Haryana and its two officials.
INLD national general secretary RS Chaudhry, in a written representation to election commissioner VS Sampath, pointed out that a senior IAS officer, Roshan Lal, who was a known loyalist of chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was appointed home secretary on August 1.
Seeking appointment of a “neutral officer” as home secretary till the end of the ensuing elections process in Haryana, the INLD leader alleged that Roshan Lal was also named in few controversies in the agriculture department.
Alleging that Hooda was learnt to have exercised undue influence upon the officers of the ECI to protect another of his favourite IAS officers, Ramesh Krishan, secretary, home, from disciplinary action, Chaudhry said Ramesh Krishan was removed from the duty of election observer in Kerala on March 30 in the Lok Sabha elections after he was found misusing the official vehicle by making unauthorised trips to Thiruvananthapuram for playing golf.
‘MISUSE OF PUBLIC MONEY’
The INLD further alleged that the Haryana government was illegally spending Rs 5 lakh of public money per day on advertisements not for disseminating knowledge of government schemes and programmes for the benefit of the masses, but to accord benefits to the ruling political party in the coming assembly polls in the state elections.
“The advertisements were not sponsored by the departments concerned, but out of the funds of the public relations department at the behest of Hooda to benefit the Congress,” Chaudhary further wrote.
