Jats threaten to resume stir after August 15
All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti has reiterated its resolve to resume the agitation if its demand for reservation in government jobs is not met by August 15.
All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti has reiterated its resolve to resume the agitation if its demand for reservation in government jobs is not met by August 15.
Samiti Haryana unit president Hawa Singh Sangwan said here on Saturday that if the government did not extend the benefit of reservation to the Jat community by August 15, a series of protests would be organised in 13 states from the following day onwards.
"The samiti leadership is formulating a strategy that will ensure that agitation remains peaceful," Sangwan said.
He criticised Yash Pal Malik, a 'self-styled' Jat leader from Uttar Pradesh, saying Malik was working for his own personal agenda rather than that of the Jat community.
The samiti would soon launch a campaign to expose those members of the community who put their interests above those of the community, the samiti president added.
