The Punjab government has given the charge of principal chief conservator of forests (PCCF) to 1984 batch IFS officer Kuldeep Kumar. The post fell vacant on October 31 with the retirement of MP Rai. The file was cleared by CM Parkash Singh Badal.

Earlier, Kumar's name was cleared by forest and wildlife department principal secretary Vishavjeet Khanna.
