Mittal said the courtesy call was fruitful as discussions were held on many key issues related to strengthening of health services in Punjab.
"She agreed on almost all proposals, especially the ones pertaining to strengthening of ayurveda and homoeopathy medical services in the state," said Mittal.
The health minister told Chaudhry, Congress MP from Hoshiarpur, that funds under various centrally sponsored schemes of the AYUSH programme had not been released by the central government so far. This included the supply of essential drugs for 524 ayurvedic dispensaries.
Mittal emphasised on the early release of funds to the tune of Rs 2,302 lakh for establishing new wings at Mansa, Patiala, Kapurthala, Moga, Muktsar, Faridkot and Fatehgarh Sahib.
