"He (Modi) could not unite his own state, how can he unite the country? He will divide the country too," he alleged.

He also questioned Modi on his sartorial sense and claimed that he was more interest in dressing-up than in the welfare of people.

"Campaigning for a mass leader like Pawan Bansalis a pleasure. Chandigarh is a city of dreams and known internationally for its character and this has been possible only because of efforts of Bansal," he claimed.

The city has a population of more than 2 lakh natives from Uttarakhand and around 1 lakh are registered voters.

Speaking at the Sector-40 rally at the Ramlila grounds, Bansal said: "Rawat is my friend for 25 years and has done great work for the development of Uttarakhand. I a privileged to get the support of all such people."
