Murder accused's kin protest
The family of a murder acused, Lakhmir alias Meeka, staged a protest in Manimajra, seeking re-investigation into the case, on Thursday. They carried out a protest march in the area.
The family of a murder acused, Lakhmir alias Meeka, staged a protest in Manimajra, seeking re-investigation into the case, on Thursday. They carried out a protest march in the area.
Meeka was arrested for allegedly stabbing Pramod Dhiman, 35, to death on March 20 in the parking area of Shivalik Park, Manimajra. Meeka's family had met Chandigarh SSP and claimed that he had been falsely implicated in this case.
The family approached the Manimajra station house officer, seeking re-investigation.
Earlier, the police had arrested him, claiming that Meeka had a scuffle with Pramod at a religious centre after the latter had asked him not to talk to a woman.
The police officials said that he had confessed his crime but the investigation is still going on. The ASP (East), Parvinder Singh, is investigating the case.
