Noted lyricist Gulzar calls on CM Virbhadra Singh

Noted lyricist, poet, writer and filmmaker Gulzar called on chief minister Virbhadra Singh at his residence Holly Lodge on Tuesday. Both had a long discussion on the environment and other related issues.

Noted lyricist, poet, writer and filmmaker Gulzar called on chief minister Virbhadra Singh at his residence Holly Lodge on Tuesday.


Both had a long discussion on the environment and other related issues.

The CM apprised Gulzar about the forest policy of the state and said the government had imposed complete ban on felling of trees.

The state had also adopted strict measures for making state polythene-free, he added.

Gulzar appreciated the steps taken by the state government for the preservation of the environment. He presented his books to the chief minister on the occasion.

Chief minister also honoured Gulzar with traditional Himachali cap and a shawl.

Veteran journalist Vepa Rao also accompanied Gulzar.
